The elusive W52
Long story short...picked up an 84 EFI 2wd xcab pickup off of craigslist. The tranny is in need of a rebuild so I have been trying to find a good used replacement, which is turning out to be a pain. I have confirmed off the placard in the engine bay that I have a W52. Through some research this looks to be a pretty rare tranny mainly used in Australia. The local junkyards have some 2wd trannys but they are an inch too short, thinking they must be W55's.
Are there any trannys that would be a direct fit to replace the w52? Any recommendations on who to call or where to look that may have one?
Thanks!

What makes it an inch too short? Maybe you can use the crossmember or driveshaft from a W55 to make it fit? You could also try e-mailing or calling Marlin Crawler. He knows a lot about Toyota transmissions.
