Electrical problems! Click no start issue which needs assessment.

So I know I need to replace my alternator wiring harness after moving around some cables and finding out there was some bad wiring done. Now I still have this reoccurring problem of the common click no start issue on my runner which I have replaced battery, alternator twice, and starter from a local auto parts store which has been good but I still have the click no start issue. It starts fine when cooler and on regular days but when a lil warmer and dry heat it just clicks and doesn’t want to start unless I have someone bang the starter and even then it still starts really rough like its clogged with gas and smokes a lot and smells like burning gas heavily. So im not sure if I should replace starter again, replace the cable to terminal, or rig up a starter relay which these didn’t come with. It is a 22re auto btw. Please give me your opinion on what I should do. I also have a very fluctuating voltage that messes with my idle and whatever I do like turning on heater, lights, blinker, or wipers fluctuates the voltage. I will attach a video for yall to see. Please any help is needed because this is my daily in college so I appreciate yall yota family!

Give this a good read:

If it is in fact the relay is needed it may be somewhat flooded after fighting it to start, I also wouldn’t put any confidence in aftermarket alternators, could be as simple as you got another poo one and it’s causing your fluctuation? simplest thing would be to have the alternator tested.

Good luck

The alternator I got is a better and genuine alternator. I know its for sure my alternator wiring harness that messes with my lights and some fluctuation but that fluctuation was at a normal voltage after being started like as if there is a really bad ground or terminal or something.

and also what do you mean by the if the relay is needed it may be somewhat flooded after fighting to start? Sometimes when it is hot like that it takes like two tries to get it to start because the starter is loud and sounds like its gonna break after cranking it so long. Then when someone bangs on the solenoid it takes even longer and gets flooded with gas and runs like crap until it clears.

Yes I meant it’s flooded from it not starting, but I would start with the starter wiring from the thread I pointed out.

My starter wiring isnt messed up or wired bad though. Only thing I can think of is that the terminal isnt getting full power because it doesn’t go on fully and maybe that the terminal and cable trip out sometimes and just dont start. I had to get a new starter wiring harness when I replaced my starter and terminal never fit on correctly.
