EFI to Carburetor NEED HELP!!

im new to this toyota 4runner but iv owned and worked on 3 88-89 toyota supras turbo and non so im a toyota fan, its an 86 4runner which was originally EFI and who ever had it before me converted it to Carburetor (dunno why but they did) i thought it would be a nice truck but its given me HELL.
I took it to a local 4x4 for toyota shop to get it up and running and they did but they did a pooooooor job...
now it idles high at 2000 rpm when cold...and any where from 1200 to 2000 when warm...it loses power in some gears as it gets warmer, i hop on the highway and it wont go past 65-70 in 5th gear....when i shut it off it shuts off really HARD and rough....i noticed it boiling up the radiator...my temp gauge doesnt work tho...
has any one seen this before????? i cant seem to find a thread in the search box about this to help me....HELP if you can please!! o and the truck has 123k original miles and i believe it might be another 22r motor besides the originall

that would be the explaination for the carb..a diff motor, the idle screws are located on the pass side of the carb, should be one of them facing you thats the hot idle, and theres one kinda facing down on some linkage, thats the fast idle (cold) i bealive the hot idle is suppose to be 750, dunno about cold but mines at about 1200 and is pretty good, and does the boiling happen just while running...like air? or because its toooo hot? get a good set of mechanical guages at your local parts place, should be about 30 bucks for oil pres temp n voltage, check your oil for water to make sure you dont have a blown Head Gasket, hard shutoff might be do to a faulty fuel cutoff cylinoid on the carb, might be a good time to rebuild the carb n see if it helps with the power n such.. good luck n welcome to Yota Tech

the carb just had a freshh build that i did myself following the user manual of one of these sites i got from here at yota tech....as far as the boiling i only get it after i drive maybe 20 miles and then it leaks some rad fluid out the bottom end closest to the rear not the front....and i just changed the oil wit some quaker state 10 30 and you cant even tell because so much gas is being mixed into the engine so its basically black or light black/gray/clear.....u kno anythin else?
