e brake stuck
I have a 85sr5 and im having trouble with the e brake, it gets stuck on the left rear tire,i took it to a good yota tech and he told me that the part i need is hard to find? the part that attaches to the cable just behind the inside hub, he then put some lube on the part but it keeps getting stuck
and i can feel it draging when i drive
what are my options to get this fixed thank you

If this person you took it to is good he is a bit clueless .
These ebrake systems are all well and good used every day but let them sit for a few weeks or months the tend to seize up. You have a steel pin going through a Aluminum bracket holding on a steel arm (bell crank) well anytime you have different metals
What you need is called a Bell crank bracket and most Toyota Dealers stock them they are not that expensive I must have at least 3 sets.
If I am not mistaken list price is around $20.00 If you are going to do this get the pins also and just do both sides .
The bell crank brackets unbolt from the inside remove the drum m8x1.25x 25mm most times the bolts snap off so it is good to have new ones
Clean up the bell cranks and reuse them . If the back brakes are getting low while you have it all apart new shoes while you are in there.
Upon reassembly Never Seize all the new parts as long as you use these e-brakes you should have no problems with that for a good while

i had the same problem with my e-brake when i bought my runner. i drove it on to the trailer and pulled the brake because foot brakes weren't working right. i let it sit over night and the next morning when i went to back it of the trailer it wouldn'y bugde. my brother pushed it into my garage. same tire was sticking, driverside rear. i hammered the e-brake bracket on the drum back out then bled the brake lines (lots of air in them) adjusted the rear drums with one of those brake tools, some people call them tuning forks. then adjusted the e-brake with an end wrench. has been working great since. maybe you just need to adjust it?

wyoming9 is correct, bellcrank, pivot pin,and bracket are seized.ive had good luck just disassembling these parts cleaning them up applying antiseize and reassembling them.then just keep using your e-brake.
