Today, I decided to fix my vent today, because the fin the slider was on, was out of place I couldn't change the direction.

So, as I started to take my dash apart so I could reach down with my hand and grab the piece. No luck.
I look under the dash looking to see if I could unscrew it and pull it up, and I see a little cluster of pieces on the duct, I push on the middle and out falls the piece I dropped!

I guess it's happened to them at Toyota before, it's like a small "trap" door in the vent to retrieve small objects that fall in.
The door would stay open also, so people with a whistleing, it could possibly be caused by that also, although I never tested it.

I'm still in awe.

yeah i had that problem before.... i had some change on the dash that slid into the vents, and a couple gumballs, a plastic toy, and a sticker came out the bottom

We should have a thread specifically for posting the weird crap that everyone's gonna find in their vents now. Like paraphernelia etc. I'm checking mine right now!

It's right underneath the steeringwheel. It's not a large door, but it's enough for something small.
