Converting to a tach dash

So last week I was going through a couple of wrecking yards collecting parts for my project and came across a tach dash and went hmm,....Anyways picked it up along with about a foot of wiring with all the connectors. What I have is an 86 (factory carb'd) and the instrument cluster I got came out of an 84 (also carb'd). Hoping somebody here has possibly addressed this conversion and could give some wiring diagrams or tips or maybe even a wiring diagram. I have a chiltons and have been going through it, but it really doesn't seem to be too detailed like I would like. Anybody? Looks like I'll have to change my oil sender

Watched this video and am wondering if it is just that easy....plug and play plus 1 wire?

Mine is a 22RE so I'm not sure if it's different from carb'd. I swapped an 85 SR5 cluster with tach into my 88. Plugged right in. Also swapped the oil pressure "sender" to where the oil pressure "switch" was for the idiot light. Yep, that easy on mine anyway.

Thanks, that's the kind of answers I'm looking for. I was going to double check the pins before it goes live to make sure I don't short anything out by the non-response I was getting here

Sweet! thanks, looks like I'm good to go. One thing I came across when checking this out is that--even though the cluster came out of a 2wd--the printed circuit has a place for a 4wd indicator (green). Think I'll be utilizing that also since I'm converting the truck to 4wd from a 2
