Common leaks and typical fixes

Just got under my new rig for the first time since i brought it home. Everything seems clean...little road grime and gunk on the drag link and tie rod..some gunk on alternator..as far as leaks it looks like all i have is at the back of the oil pan. I have about a half dollar size "puddle" in my garage floor. Is this a hard fix? Also what other areas should i look at?

Look higher up on the engine to see if possible valve cover gasket or head gasket leaking the oil. If thats dry, the possibly rear main seal(tranny has to be removed) or oil pan gasket. All these items have been discussed multiple times so a search would help for repair threads. May be easier to do a good "Gunk" engine degreaser, or Purple Stuff, and pressure wash everything and watch for the source of leak in the places I mentioned.

And since youre in Chatta, I will be up at Nickajack probably next week for some fishing. If your in town, maybe we could meet up and I can explain and show you the twin stick, 2wd/4wd stuff.

whatever you do, don't use a paper/cork/rubber gasket for the oil pan! FIPG or rtv only or you'll end up redoing it all over again

Ive heard different reviews. Ill just use some kinda RTV i guess. I sure hope the rear main is in good shape. That seems like it would be a PITA.
