Choke Issues

So, I have attempted to adjust the choke on my 84 several times. I rebuilt the Aisin as you may or may not know, after a drawn out battle with a weber. When I do get the truck to warm up, she runs like a champ, perfect, no joke, perfect. It's just a bear to keep going for the first 5 minutes. Before I rebuilt the Aisin, it would take 20-30 minutes to even get it to fire. Now she starts up but the choke does not work at all. I have double and triple checked my vacuum lines, everything is connected properly. I have tried looking for the spring/element online and at the store, but to no avail. Anyone have a suggestion at all? Either where to find one, or a possible solution to this?

heh, I've been trying to find a replacement too, you will find one for yours at rock auto. They are pricey though at like $85. As a mater of fack I think the 83 is the only one that list that choke thermostat for. ??? Aren't they all the same?

I believe they are the same, after all, I have two 84's in the kitchen, and they match up to jonny's 83. Ill check.

that's what I thought, however when contacting airtex on this choke when I was gonna buy one, they gave me some run around whether or not it was the same or not, their excuse was that the temperature settings on the spring might be different and they could not guarantee that it would work or not.
