Man I hope you have better luck with the RadioShack CBs than I have. Gone through 2, including the one you have. Always the volume control that dies. Planning on soldering a new pot into the first one I got that had weather band.

lol, anything radio shack is of poor quality, i went the radio because its soo small, even though the reviews say its not really a good radio, it sounds like they last around 2 years, so ill just replace it if it dies on me, im kinda stuck because no other radio is that small. but your right about radioshack radios

yeah i know, i wasnt to happy with the price, but if your trying to install a radio in a tight space its perfect, its not the best radio out there, but ive been gettin around 3mi. with an untuned mag mount from walmar

Here is my RadioShat unit. I just got a patch cable tonight to go from the external speaker jack on it to my truck's stereo AUX-in until I get around to replacing the volume control pot.
Listened to the weather band loud as hell all the way home...

ahh, i see, lol i got two questions now...both of wich are pointless...but on your clock next to the heater settings, there is a button that says :00, like you use it to set the seconds, but the clock doesnt display seconds so what does it do? and secondly your cb says wx/compass, whats the compass mean?

If you look above the mic plug there is a switch that says WX/CB/CMP. The compass is the same as CB mode only instead of showing the channel it shows a compass on the screen. It needs to be calibrated but I never have done it.

lol, yeah that would suck. I find the buttons sort of hard to press though, I usually use a pen or something.
Here is a pic of the compass... the truck is pointing south. Will mess with it some day to calibrate it, have had it forever and any documentation I might have had for it is gone.

anyway, so i got my antenna's and my co-phase cable in the mail today, im just waiting for my mounting brackets.... heres a tip for anyone looking for dual firestik's im gonna give an example with the 4ft since that was what ive been researching.
a dual firstik kit at the cheapest is around 109.00
i ordered all the componests seperately on ebay using only the firestik components and not the cheapo knockoffs. the 2 antennas that i ordered sepereatly were 24.99, so thats about 50.00. i got my 18'ft cophase calbe for about 15.00, 2 mounting brackets (ss124a) for like 7 each, so we'll round that to 15.00. and 2 springs for about 9 each so we'll round that to 20.00.
so the total is
antennas 50.00
co-phase cable 15.00
mounting brackets 15.00
springs 20.00
---------------------------------
total 100.00
your savings.........$9.00
for some reason, i only paid 80 and i saved 40 bucks, so i think i overpriced the items above a little bit. but anyway i saved 40.00, but the downside is, i dont get that little mic hanger that comes with the firestik kit
