my name is Kevin Kehel
i have had a bunch of Toyota trucks and 4runners, and i have been a mechanic for 30 years
i recently bought my son a 1984 4x4 extended cab with a 22r, we pulled the engine and are doing a full rebuild, but the carb has me at a stopping point...
the only identifying marks are "R 8708"
any help identifying would be greatly appreciated....

Looks like a Holley 5200
R 8708 was original on some 78-79 Fords

Millball is right on the money, as usual. Holley 5200 for a 1979 Ford Mustang or Mercury Capri, either car equipped with a 2.3 liter 4 cylinder.

If you'd rather go with an original Aisin carb try National Carb: https://nationalcarburetors.com/toyo...arburetor_1985
