Hey Everyone,

I know this subject has been covered to no end on this site, but I havent been able to find a thread with the same issue. I just bought a 85 runner, new rear tailgate, and new top for it. was assured by the guys at the Yota yard it all gate electronics worked in the previous truck.

After hooking up the new rear tailgate and plugging into the factory harness I noticed that the rear window warning light stays on. Using the info from 4crawler and the 85 manual I checked the rear door lock switch and it seems to be working fine. I manually closed the window hooking it to 12v to drive it back up to MT, but now gotta get this worked out.



Anyone have the wiring diagram schematics for the rear gate with color coding for the wiring? Suggestions? Im thinking it has to be a wiring issue in the truck to the lock switch.

The FSM wiring diagrams have the wire colors and connector pin outs.
