got me confused, I don't know the difference in an Imp. gal and a US gal, but it's gotta be quite a bit, because there's no way you could EVER get 20 US mpg with a 3.0, 35s, and 4.10s....If I saw it in person, I still don't think I could believe it.

I don't' see how you drive that thing, It must be so incredibly slow......

I think you'd have to be wheeling a lot every day to make it worth while......it takes like 20 seconds to get out and lock them. Definatley unlock them if you aren't going off road or expecting hazardous weather.

Here is a interesting tid bit of information I found online. This is the specs for the 1987 model year. It supports the 17.2 gallons capacity others claim. Has anyone else made the switch to the SR5 instrument cluster and found that the gas gauge doesn't reflect the correct level of the actual fuel level?

1st Generation Info & Specifications

Here is the actual Specifications for the 1987 model year:

The gas gauge on any vehicle is usually inaccurate to some degree. Mine doesn't even work anymore. On my Ford it still works, but I still keep track of miles rather than just watchint the gauge.

Where did you find the info on the truck? that looks like a sales brochure from way back when.

Yeah, there is always a factor of not 'right on the money' - the image is from the site I found on 1st Gen Toyota's.

I've got an 87' 4Runner with 250K miles & 33x12.50's and use this formula also. Using the "adding 10%" I get 19.13 mpg. Without adding the 10% it's 17-something mpg. After I added BG's 44K I went up just under a full 2 mpg, that stuff's great. It's only a 4 cyl 5 spd and it's got bigger tires and is 20 yrs old, so considering all that I'm pretty pleased with the gas mileage.
