my truck was at a friends house with a spun bearing. I don't know much about the 22re engines so he said he would help me fix it.
it needed a new crank so I went to the toyota wrecking yard and found a crank for an 85 22re. I also bought some new bearings for it.The top end was rebuilt before it died so nothing needed done up top.
to my surprise monday night I hear this truck out front and it is the yota. he yanked the engine pulled the crank and also picked up and installed a new clutch, as well as having the flywheel turned. Then he assembled it and got it running.
the truck sat for about 3 1/2 yrs before we got it running that is when we found out the crank was bad. I guess that is why the guy sold it for a $100. but my kid is going to use it and he is stoked.
I guess I will be on here more asking stupid questions and such.

the last time it was tabbed was in 2000. but that is about to change. I still need to go through the brakes and axles before putting it back on the road,also I need to fix the regulator. Then its wheelin time.

yeah I have a brother in law that would rather beat a truck to death than fix it or take care of it.
