plz help me my 85 runs flawlessly below 3500 rpm at witch point it will start to bog down at 4000 its pretty bad then at 4500 it feels like I have hit a rev limiter "drops to 4000 and back to 4500 then down again" i have replaced the plug cap and rotor, fuel filter and the wires are fairly new. I have tested the TPS, MAF, Coil, igniter, dist, and cat. all check out I have also cleaned the TB and intake; I have noticed that it idles at the same RPM when I start it in the morning as it does after it is warm if that helps any ideas?

 

What engine do you have 22RE or 22R ?.

Just throwing out ideas, have you checked your timming ?, has the timming chain ever been replaced ?.

 

it is a 22re I have checked the dist timing and the gentleman I purchased it from less than 2 months ago said that he had just replaced the timing chain and put in the steal guides It doesn't seem to me that the marks couldn't be off because it runs perfectly below 3500 RPM or am I assuming incorrectly

 

Seems like the valves may need readjusting to fact spec. Or not firing on all cylinders.
