I have an 85' Toyota Pickup 2WD DLX. I recently got stuck, at a gas station fortunately, because the diaphragm in my mechanical fuel pump ruptured. It starts but has run like crap since replacing it. I bought a Carter brand pump that matches the oem original pump body. It was the middle of summer, the old rubber hoses were splitting and long story short I replaced the rubber hoses and I'm pretty sure I hooked them up correctly but because I have this rough running engine now it seems suspect. I attached photos. The picture of a new pump shows a green and red arrow pointing to 2 of the 3 lines. I know for certain the outlet side line beside valve cover, goes to the carburetor. What I don't know is if I may have accidentally switched the inlet line with the return line. There's a picture of the end of the rubber hoses and the two metal lines near the oil filter that run to the tank. The two lines are also marked with a green and red arrow which matches the orientation I have those lines connected to the fuel pump inlet and return on the pump. If someone can confirm the orientation I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you! Mechanical fuel pump location on 22R Fuel pump inlet ( green arrow ) Fuel pump return ( red arrow ) THE ARROW COLORS MATCH THE COLOR AND POSITION OF THE ARROWS ON THE FUEL PUMP. TOP RED ARROW - FUEL LINE currently connected to return ( center line on pump ) BOTTOM GREEN ARROW - FUEL LINE currently connected to inlet on fuel pump ( side opposite valve cover ) IS THIS CORRECT ORIENTATION? THANK YOU!!!!
