85 Runner RUF clearance question

85 Runner RUF clearance question
I hope I haven't overlooked previous posts about this, but I have searched...
Right now my 85 Runner has OME springs. I just put in a TG high steer kit. The tie rod was sitting just below the front of the oil pan with about two inches of clearance. I cut up some helper springs from an old TG pack and threw them in. Now I have another inch of clearance, but the front end is too stiff. I want to keep the lift around 3" since I only want to run 33s. From what I have read about RUF swaps, I can use the stock front spring mounts and just run longer shackles - no real major fab work. Thus, I can keep the front end low.
The question I have is whether or not swapping in a RUF pack will move the axle forward enough for the tie rod to clear the oil pan. So I'm hoping that someone else has done the swap on an 84 or 85 and can tell me if their high steer clears the pan or if they had similar issues.

RUF seems like a fair amount of effort just to nudge the axle forward. If you like the OME and have already shoved your IFS box up, all you need to do is redrill the spring perches on the axle and move it forward relative to the springs.
