oh yeah, mines the carb version so its not the most desirable 85 model unfortunately, but I feel like its close enough for me although I really wish it came with a tacho. will probably end up efi and turbo unless a 7mge or a 2jzge shows up around here =)

thought I would update this, still to this day have most of the crazy wandering there, really doesn't feel great to drive it fast..
got the wheel bearings repacked and re-tightened.
got the 4" lift in the rear also from the same spring company so it shouldn't be the springs, I decided not to do the Zuk after all.

starting to get a bit annoyed by it. I think I am going to try and set the toe in by measuring like in the thread and not rely on alignment shops, they never seem to get anything right when I go there and I could probably use more toe in with the lift and wheels I imagine.

Should I change the tie rod ends while I am at it, they seem alright and tuggin on the wheels doesn't show any play really. only spot with some play is probably the rag joint, has anyone removed that thing and used something solid or washers to replace it? or should I just go get a new rag joint at the dealer or someplace...

I gotta solve this wandering problem, trying to gather parts for swapping in a 2jzge and I am worried the power will be useless if the truck can;t even drive remotely straight.

read thru this thread and it will tell you how to check for loose steering and bearings .. your front caster angle could be off to

yeah that is not really my problem at least not what is in that thread.
I checked again, there is not enough play anywhere to justify this type of handling.
Caster is set and I cannot change that, even the new springs didn't help so it wasn't the angle of the sagged springs.

I really think it is the toe now. I measured front and back across the tires and its almost identical. So maybe what little play I have is causing the tires to go toe in and then toe out from normal driving? I am going to try and set the 1/8" of toe in and see if that helps. especially since all the steering stuff comes down on the drivers side and the alignment is showing no toe for that side basically.

gonna get new tie rod ends I guess and set the toe myself this time. not gonna trust the alignment shop again on this one.

I am having the same problem on my 85. I've only driven it a couple times due to it needing the engine rebuilt. But at slower speeds it seems to be fine but at higher speeds it likes to wander/ bump steers. I have a 6in suspension lift and it sits on 33s. I'm saving to do hi steer, but in the meantime I'm going to try a dual steering stabilizer to see if that helps the problem for now
