First of all, I bought the truck a few months ago. The person before me replaced the engine with a 22RE from a 94 pickup with 80,000 miles. Engine runs strong, and he has the records from it, and it seems to be a decent swap. The problem is it doesn't always start on the first turn, and it smells like gas when you try to start it. Just turns and turns until it slowly kicks over. It has never left me stranded, but just takes a little more effort on a few occasions. Feels like an injector problem. Check engine light comes on every few weeks or so for a sec or two and goes off. Took it to the shop and he said because of the engine swap he can't get a computer read off it. The worst part is when I turn the truck off, the truck still idles so I have to kill the clutch slowly for it to turn off. Cold start is hooked up and works properly. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
