I am rebuilding the front axles for my 85 4runner. I bought just the gasket/seal repair kit from Marlin as the full kit with bearings was out of stock. Of course, now they are in stock....go figure. But I figure I could just order the Koyo bearings on my own. Here's where the mystery begins.

I have owned my 4runner since 2001 and to my knowledge, the bearings in there are original. The part numbers for the Koyo bearings that are in there are LM102949 and JLM104948. I can get these bearings from Amazon. However, if I plug in my year 4runner, amazon reports LM102910 for one of the bearings and nothing for the other bearing. Does anyone have the correct Koyo PN for the wheel bearings?

unless its ifs they are all the same go to advanced n tell them you need a bearing.

 

I am not sure of the exact Koyo part number, but I do know part numbers can change over the years. You can try e-mailing Marlin and see if he will sell you just the bearings since you already bought the gasket kit from him. If nothing else, he will probably give you the most recent part number.

Something would make me uneasy about trusting the Amazon auto parts section for specific parts like Koyo bearings. Beck/Arnley sometimes packages OEM parts in their box for a lot cheaper. I have seen Autozone Duralast brand do the same thing. You might try a local parts store and look at the bearing before you buy it to see if it is a Koyo bearing.
