Ok heres the deal i did head gasket...head was freshlyreworked truck runsand revs fine in neutral but in gear I have no power and I took it out to drive it it dies slowly like it bogs down and loses power and now it wont stay running.. Im not burning anything im not leaking anything my timing is correct. Im at a loss...ive put in new plugs and wires new belts and injector seals and gaskets all the way up...idk what would cause it to lose power like that any suggestions or ideas would greatly be appreciated

Kinda sounds like it might not be getting enough fuel. A clogged fuel filter maybe, broken fuel pressure regulator... Did you happen to get your injectors cleaned/ tested while they were out?

You can test the injectors' coils by measuring the resistance with a multimeter. I don't know the specs off the top of my head but they are listed in the FSM. That will really only tell you that part of the injector is not broken, you have to take them out and send them off to get tested to really know they are working right and not clogged up. You could also check your fuel pressure. A little bit of a PITA but I think you could borrow a pressure gauge from Autozone or Checker.

Any codes from the check engine light?

You might try renaming the thread something more descriptive (ie. 22RE Power Loss, Won't Idle), maybe someone who knows more than me will chime in.

My truck was having the same problem and i replaced the fuel tank(full of rust), fuel pump, and all fuel filters. It ran fine for a whilre then it started to mess up again. I checked the fuel pressure regulator with a stethoscope and it wasnt clicking. Could the rust from the fuel tank have clogged up the pressure regulator. ...Or do you have any other ideas? Please help!!
