84 waggys really stiff

Just added some 5 leaf waggys up front from an 84 wagonneer. Everything is fine except they are stiff as hell. Will these wear in with some wheeling or do the 5 leafs typically run super stiff. I'm sorry for the question, but I have been shearching for 2 days and cannot find a straight answer as to whether these springs are typically stiff or not. I figured they'd be worn in after 24 years of being on the waggy. Thanks.

I'd bet that the body/motor/frame of the waggy weigh a bit more than that of the 4runner, so my guess is that they were stiff to begin with, and will probably ride stiff for their entire life. If it were me, I'd remove that bottom leaf and see how it affects the ride height and ride quality. Should be pretty easy.

You could take a leaf out if they don't...

I had gotten the idea that they had a decent amount of flex and fairly smooth ride if just bolted on. I may try to take a leaf out and see what happens.
