I put in a new input shaft seal last night and was looking to replace the bellhousing gasket but can't seem to find one anywhere. Maybe I'm just retarded. It's a 2wd. I'm pretty sure it's the w55 trans can anyone shed some light on this for me.

What trans I have and where to find a bellhousing gasket or is it safe to use rtv in its place?

 

Also it has the square shifter boot as opposites to the more common round one.

I know my '85 4x4 with the 22RE has a W-56A in it. Not sure if it would be the same.

 

Check marlin Crawlers site, they have a good chart for identifying it by year.

Edit: Looks like yours would be a G52 according to their chart.

 

I use anaerobic sealant.

 

The last 3 digits on the trim tag on the firewall under the hood is what came in the truck.
