ever consider eliminating it, and switching to a transfer case brake?

bassicly, instead of using your rear drums for the parking brake, you get rid of all that stuff, and mount something similar to a disc brake behind the transfer case, and it locks your driveline. talk to YT'er teuf, i think he has one.

Just what is it you need??

The Bell Crank is made of steel and unless they are beat up from being beat on with a hammer I reuse them just clean them up.

The bell crank brackets are aluminum and the steel pin just seizes up if you don`t use the E-Brake or the vehicle sits for a long time.

You might find someone parting out a truck with ones the were done not to long ago. Perhaps Dave`s might have some from a nice California Truck Other than that dealer only.

Since this is a common problem I always keep these in the parts inventory.

I know this is an old thread, but I'm looking for a bell crank for the parking brake and none of the autoparts stores carry them, and the local junkyard didn't have any that fit. I have an 1985 4x4...

The bell crank is the steel arm. Unless they are beat on with a hammer I can clean them up and reuse.

The bell crank bracket is the aluminum piece the arm is attached to that mounts to the backing plate.

Most all the brackets I remove come off in pieces.

You might find one from the dry southwest on a truck being parted out.

Or new from the dealer.
