84 to 86 rear brake question

Hey, so I am wanting to upgrade my stock rear brakes on my 84 4Runner over to the larger rear brakes off an 86 4Runner body donor. Got the whole 86 cheap and non running. So I know the axle housing is 3" wider and I want to use my 84 housing. I took the axle shafts out of the 86 and everything fits as I thought it would, but the axles shafts are longer. So my thought was to pull the 84 axle shafts off the 84 drums/backing plate and install them into the 86 drums and backing plates. However, it looks like the middle part of the axle where the drum attaches to is larger in diameter than the 84. I did some Googling and couldn't find a concrete answer. Does anyone know if the 84 shorter axle will fit on the 86 brake drum/backing plate and be able to center properly in the housing? Or if not does anyone know if anyone makes the 84 length axles but with the 86 larger diameter area? Would really like to use the bigger brakes without swapping the whole housing over.

Thanks,
-Tony

Edit: I found an answer for my issue, Marlin Crawler sells a Yukon axle shaft that can be cut, if anyone else has this same question.

86 rear brakes will fit on the earlier rear axles. I would do the axle bearings and seals at the same time. If you already have new seals and bearings and plan on reusing, I would make my own SST out of an old axle housing. You just need an axle tube with mount flange, and a press.
