where should my 4wd indicator light be on a 86 turbo 4runner??? needles to say, nothing lights up when I shift into 4wd. I cant even see where the light is supposed to be. I have the sr5 digital dash. can anyone help???

I think its up by the seltbelt light in the upper right but mine only works when it wants to which is very rarely so I could be wrong.

 

When you shift into 4WD, you should hear a click that signals that your 4WD is enguaged. It could be that your light is out, but it could also be that you have a vacuum leak somewhere that needs to be traced and fixed.

 

84 and 85 toyotas have manual hubs not automatic. the indicator light is just above the middle on the right hand side.

 

I have manual hubs. I think its the digital dash thats throwing the wrench into things. any one with a digital dash out there ?????

 

It is on the top left.
