45 MPH vibration

i have an 84 single cab 22r, 4x4, at highway speeds, ie 60 and above ride is smooth and nice, but from 45 to 55 there is a rough vibration in the truck.

anyone know what might be causing this? i have already changed rear u joints, possibility of it being tires or front u joints? would be nice as this is my daily driver. even though i only drive 3/4 mile to work everyday.

thanks.

front wheels out of balance, it will be something that turns, like wheels, brake disc. you proberly have mud on your rims

sounds like a wheel problem, either out-of-balance or out-of-round.
try rotating the wheels and see if the vibration 'moves' with the tires.
you might be able to get them rebalanced, or try one of the dynamic balancers or the 'air-soft bb' trick.

Did you mark your driveshaft when you pulled it out? It is really important that it goes in the same way it came out, or else you will have issues like what you are having.

yup, marked to return the same as came out. had this vibration before, and changed rear u joints. and returned the same way. but vibration didn't cease, just stayed the same, actually the speed range has decreased since i changed them, so i figure the fronts are bad, or the tires are really out of balance. worried a bearing is out in tranny or xfer case.
