From what I understand they can be legalized no problem, even if right hand drive. I have a buddy with a mail truck and another with a Skyline, they are both right hand drive and the skyline is straight up ordered in.. He didnt have any problem that I know of.

We have them all over B.C. Canada mostly 89-91's 4dr's with 3L diesels its the big thing right know bringing in diesel vans, 4runners, pajeros, and trucks. The older ones like your talking about had the 2L/2LTE diesels I think and some of those did come to North America in pu's and Land Cruisers.

So far I've only seen diesels in the heavy duty 2WD Toyotas. From what I understand some of them are turbo diesel (saw an ad for one on Craigslist anyway). That would be dope! Only 2.0L though. But still. I love the sound of a lightweight diesel motor... there's something cute about 'em.

Here they came in some 4x4's in the mid 80's rare though. I can get a toyota diesel engine local for about $3000 from a guy that brings in JDM vehicles.
