New (Chinese) grilles are all over eBay - pretty cheap too. I bought one and it bolted up like the O.E. grille. Might be better experimenting with a $40 knock-off anyway.

I'll be doing the same thing with my 93 4runner... But I don't really like the LED headlights.i think I'll try making my own replica headlight that looks as close as possible to the OEM ones then just use a LED bulb.
