22RE TRD Level 1 Camshaft
On the TRD website where they sell the level 1 TRD camshaft it only says 84-95 4Runners. Can I get one and put it in my 85 Pickup 22RE. Also how much do they run?

I hear the TRD stage 1 works well in the RE engines. I have a stage 2 on my 22R and it gives a good boost in midrange power. I think the stage 1 is the most you would want to put in the RE's otherwise the more aggressive cams can confuse the stock ECU.
If I remember right, i think I paid around $125ish for my cam from the dealership. Be sure to replace your rocker arms too, otherwise the old ones can grove the cam lobes prematurely. A whole new set is expensive, but doing it right the first time is better than having to later get a whole new set of rockers and a second new cam after a year or so. Trust me on that...

Should be no different in a pickup, same engine. I run one in my '85 and it works well:

This is great info! I look forward to owning my first 22RE Hilux 4x4 later this year.

I have the comp cams version stage two that I only ran for less then 2,000 miles. I can sell you for 100 shipped. it's a great cam, I'm just saving for a motor swap so I don't need it. (not that the 22RE isn't a great engine) but I am going for a 3.4 swap.
