22RE - SR5 Idiot Light ?

Hey Guys-
I did some searching but couldn't find quite what I was looking for. As in another thread, I just re-installed my freshly rebuilt engine and I'm working on getting my oil pressure up.

The question I have is that I have an '85 SR5 which has the "real" gauge. Should this unit also have an idiot / low oil pressure warning light? If it should, how is it driven?

As far as I know, I only have one sender, the real gauge sender, but it seems like the idiot light would need another sender (a switch). Does anyone have any details on this?

Thanks guys. My main concern is to make sure my fresh motor is happy... don't want to do another rebuild any time soon.

No separate light with the gauge. If you wanted to, you could install a switch sender for a light in another hole and add wiring for it. Or you can sometimes find dual output senders that have both an analog and switch type sender.
