22re Oil Galley Plugs
Hey Guys-
I'm kind of in a bind here, wondering if anyone can help. I just got my engine all buttoned up and found a small bag of parts the machine shop had given me. A couple of them I expected, and knew where they went on the engine, but a couple of them threw me for a loop.
From what I have read, I think they are the large Oil Galley Plugs.
I was wondering if anybody had any good pictures of these plugs (installed or not) and the location that they go on the 22re engine. I've done some searching but haven't found a picture yet.
I want to make absolutely sure I know here they go because I believe I left one off the front of the engine, but I literally have the entire thing buttoned up and ready to drop back in. This means I will need to pull the whole thing apart and replace every gasket, etc on the engine again if that's the case...

In any case, any pics would be greatly appreciated before I start my arduous task of undoing all the work I've done over the last 2 1/2 months (woohoo). Thanks.

Well, crisis averted (sort of). I talked with Ted over at engbldr.com and he suggested I just pull the Timing Cover. He indicated that doing this wouldn't require a new head gasket (woohoo).
I went ahead and pulled the timing cover, and sure enough, that's where the galley plug went. Reinstalled the plug and have the engine back to where it was when I started this AM. Now I just need to get the oil pan back on *grumble*.
