1985 std cab pickup camper shell?

I want to get a camper shell for my 1985 std cab pickup and I was wondering if they make a 4 runner style shell or if a 1989-95 Toyota Short Bed cab would fit on mine.

They do make one that looks similar to the 4runner for 89-95's, not sure about 84-88, I believe Leer makes it. As far as 89-95 canopy's fitting, not sure. If the trucks are anything like the 4Runners, the bed width will be 3 inches narrower if I remember correctly. Looked at putting a 85-89 4runner top on the back of my truck. I'd have to narrow it and shorten it.

you may have a hard time finding a cap for that year of truck. I was out at the store the other day and just for the heck of it took a look in the cap catalogue and the selection was pitiful for a 94 only two A.R.E. style choices available now (there used to be several) [actually there were only two choices for any toyota trucks] and none at all for the 84-88. You may be able to find a LEER cap this place did not sell them.

edit: just checked the LEER site they do not seem to be supporting anything older then a 1995.5 Tacoma... they say they have some "cross-over-fit" between other makes but to "contact a dealer for application availability".

edit edit: ARE may be able to help you use the custom cap spec option and fill in all the info at the last page on you model and so forth...

I think used is going to be your best option for a 2nd gen truck, I have one that was on my truck when I got it, and from looking at it, is probably as old as the truck.
