Thanks Mr. iNCREDIBLE! The overhead I made myself...made tempaltes out of cardboard and it's built of 3/8" ply covered in vinyl. the rear is attached to the cab right above the window in th back (there is a gusset that runs across you can sheet metal screw into very nicely), and the front is mounted to the "three hole" mirror mount. I still have the pattern for the sweep of the cab if you'd like, I'd be willing to mail them to you...it was really the hardest part. Covered it myself in black vinyl, and ran a new LED interior light too. It currently is holding a Rockford 8" woofer (16 lbs.), so it is pretty strong.

I have a sunroof so I can't run an overhead, but thanks for the offer, I will just fab something for the mirror mount location.

I was more interested in info on the monitor you bought..
is it just a headrest TV style?

also I notice those are not OEM HVAC controls.. how did you wire them up? they appear to be a dual zone controller.

Nice set up. Does the monitor have dual inputs? A PS2 in the glove box means you have an inverter in there as well? Are you running it all in RCA? DIN? HDMI? Does your deck control all with aux inputs?

Check out tv4184's thread for detailed inst. on painting your interior... it's not hard... you use Dupilicolor Vinyl Paint... the devil is in the prep work...
you need to clean the parts really well... with soap and water, then elec.contact cleaner then soap and water again... dry in clean enviro. then no handling with bare hands before painting... several light coats and dry completely before reinstall... can do whole dash area over one weekend depending on how much space you have...
Properly done it will stand up very well I did mine almost 4 yrs ago now and it is showing very little wear at all.

sorry for thread hyjack

lol at hoghead420, and thanks to you and HunterRunner0122! i bought an aftermarket glue on dash cap, my dash was ugly and cracked too. everything else i painted black with plastic spray paint. i really tried to take my time and degrease, lightly sand with 800 grit before i painted it so it would be durable. so far so good, no scratches.

Mr. iNCREDIBLE, it is just a 7 inch monitor. and yes, you're right, you have a good eye....those controls are out of the van that i got the faceplate for the dash out of, a 2000 windstar. i was going to originally use my controls, but the cables were a little short. it took me a while to adapt the electronics, actuators and valves, but the payoff is pretty sweet. nice easy click controls with a few extra buttons to use for random stuff. it is a little funny i have rear controls in an xtracab, i tell people it's to cool my amps, lol.

thanks Jmann401! yes, i have an inverter under my passenger seat...i ran 4 gauge to it w/ a big fuse directly from my battery. i have dual inputs on the monitor, and use it primarily for my rear view mirror. ps/2 was an afterthought really, i had an extra slim in a drawer, so i thought why not, lol. i have a regular single din deck right now that has aux inputs i can play the ps/2 for games and movies through my sound system, but am gonna go to a double din pioneer so i can use it for hands free here in Nevada...plus it looks cooler, lol. my alarm goes in tomorrow! all the connections are just rca, but it still looks pretty nice.
