Your Trucks Top Speed

well, I got my speedo nearly maxed with 4.88s and 31s, but I was just barely in the fast lane on the freeway, so I was probably only doing about 75 or 80. I usually just go 65 or 70, I haven't tried to go any faster on 33s. 81, 162k original miles 22r, 4.88s 33x10.5s

stock 82 2x4 5 speed... cruize at 75-80 at around 3200 rpm. speedo stops at 85 at 3500 rpm. had it at 4000 rpm down hill.. maybe 100 105? i need a better rear end gear. so i can cruize at 80 at 2500 on socal freeeways so im not getting passed all day, im sure id get better than 28-30 mpg too... drives really nice at 80 btw..

81 long bed 22r 5 speed 4.88 gears and 31's
91 according to gps, it started vibrating and i let off, that about 4k rpm in 5th. i max out the 85 mph speedo every now and then, but that is just aboou 75 - 77 mph when the neddle stops moving.
usually i dont go over 65 mph.

2 to 3 or 3 to 2 25mph/40kmh
3 to 4 or 4 to 3 40mph/64kmh
4 to 5 or 5 to 4* 45mph/72kmh
* 5-speed transmission only
Maximum allowable speeds.
1 28mph/45kmh
2 47mph/75kmh

If you guys were wondering about anything else straight from Toyota's manual, feel free to ask. I'll scan specific pages if you're curious.

88, fresh 22RE with 270 cam, bigger valves, port work, header, 2 1/4" exhaust, K&N, 31's, 4.56's
Level grade on I-10, 100mph on speedo, tach was I think over 4000rpm. Slowly creeping faster.
This was in Az in cool dry winter weather. No way will it do it when it hits 100+ degrees.

Maybe with some modifications it would be different...but even though I have had my truck up just over 80mph, it sure doesn't seem safe. It's fine on a nice straight flat smooth road, but hitting frost heaves or bumps is scary going any fast than 60-65mph. That's actually become my highway speed on trips. Right around 60 or so. Slow, but at least it feels safe.

88 is the year of your pickup then and not the top speed?
Hopefully I can build my 22R up so it will at least run a steady 75mph w/o revving too high. I don't think I could handle driving under 70 on interstate.

Not that we're e-racing, but for the sake of conversation..
My '83 w/ a 97 3RZ (Mods in signature) will easily cruise at speeds in excess of 85mph without much throttle input in mildly hilly Southern New Mexico at an elevation of around 5000ft ASL. I REALLY don't want to find out the top speed as even 85mph isn't what I'd consider safe for the handling characteristics of the truck. I have no problems cruising at 70-75 sustained on the interstate however, and do it every day.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. The 3RZ has been the best modification at "modernizing" my old pickup for daily use.

Like title says. I wanna know how fast my truck is compared to others. ie; 5 spd vs 4 spd, 3.90 vs 4.10. Mine with my 5 spd trans and 3.90 gearing and 31s with my old motor was 75 mph. New motor, dont know as I am babying it, but it was easily pulling 5th at 70. So lets hear em.
120+ MPH (Speedometer runs / caibrated at 1/2 speed) and still had reserve.
