wiring help

So I have a 1983 pickup with a 1980 wiring harness the truck has been apart for multiple years finally put the rebuilt engine in well I can't seem to get power from the battery to the truck. Anyone have pictures of how the battery cables are where they mount and what I could have done wrong??? I know cables are good they are brand new grounds and battery are both clean and battery is charged.wiring diagrams don't help because they don't tell you where the ground wire goes.please help

Ground wire from your battery can go to the engine block or the frame.

Not stock wiring the diagram shows the red battery cable going to the starter? There is a black with white stripe that goes to the starter also. I have the ground wire to the engine.

The main red(power) wire goes to the starter. You should also have another power wire going to the fuses. The black w/ white stripe is your trigger that actually engages the starter motor.

It should go to your ignition switch, probably through a couple of harness connectors though.

Figured it out one of the small wires were broke thanks but now no spark from the coil checked everything ohms and voltage but no spark going to the distributor. I'm going to post another thread to explain more in depth
