I get 17mpg with 31's on 4.37 gears. I'm sure if i didnt gas it all the time i could get like 24mpg but i like to hear my engine. But @ $1.55 /L here (which is like $6.20 a gallon) it gets expensive.

I DD my 83 and 90 (one for me and the wife) currently fixing the frame on the 83, hoping to get it done soon, why is it that as soon as you have one down for repairs, NOTHING goes as planned and other things break the minute you do not have time???

I have DD my '82 4X4 since 1997its got over 225000 miles on it. I've done a lot of rebuilding on it and kept it reasonably serviced. Toyotas are the toughest vehicles I've owned in the in the 45 years I've been driving. All vehicles have quirks, even same models of the same make. To me driving a Toyota is like owning an AK or a Glock, they just keep working. Search youtube for "How to kill a Toyota", amazing!

I drive my 81 everyday. I love the looks it gets from people, like a big tonka toy. I need to get a different set of tires and wheels to keep from wearing out my 35s.

I drove my 83 truck for prob 8 months 4 of those months had a lift and 32" tires weber carb offy intake and exhaust prob averaged 18-22 per gallon ac worked the truck cab was a little small for my likings. My 85 4runner i daily drove it for over a year 17-20mpg i only changed to my 87 corolla gts as my daily cause it gets 25-28mpg every little bit counts when your saving for new lift etc...
