i put an aussie locker in the rear of my '82 today and found some problems. the shaft that goes thur the locker has some deep grooves cut in it where the spider gears where riding on it. where can i get a new one at?

also the pinion was cutting away the cairer the locker goes in. it has teeth marks around .025 deep in it now, but it turns smooth now. is that normal or did some one just set it up wrong at one time?

If you need spare parts best to just get a donor diff..

when I just installed my lockright, we got it apart and one of the spider gears wore down the carrier like you say, it wasnt horrible, so I took some heavy grit sand paper to it and got it mostly flush..
Thats about all you can do unless you want to buy a new carrier and pay to have gears set up.

Mines been in for 2 weeks havent had a problem yet..

 

i can sell u a good used carrier and center pin for $40 shipped
unless u want new, then try the dealership, but i cant see it being less than $100

 

for the diff pin and carrier, $40 shipped seam pretty dang good to me.
