Does any one know what this part is called? It is installed on the intake side of the head 1978 toyota hilux pickup sr5 R20 engine. Coolant runs through it and returns back in the radiator. It used to connect to the heater core in the cabin. Cant seem to find it in the manual. Also where does the vacuum line connect to? I no longer have the heater core. I'm afraid smog will ask for the vacuum lines to be connected and I don't know where they connect. I'm thinking of removing the thermostat and just plug it up.
I am not sure exactly what this is called anymore. The vacuum ports (at least on the 22R) are to control the automatic choke and the routing should be in the manual; look in the "minor engine" section. Choke breaker I believe this what you're looking for. DO NOT remove the thermostat! Yes you can block this off.
