rail slinger

i bought a 83 yota a few months ago and it has something ive never seen. it has what appears to be somewhat of a roll bar welded to the bed. it is definatly not aftermarket. it also has a factory sunroof which ive never seen before either. has anyone else ever seen this "roll bar" before

the best i can do is put a pic in the avatar. its kind of hard to see because its painted the same color as the truck

It is definatly factory. I'm a fabricator by trade, if it was homemade I would be able to tell. It is not solid. Its channel and its made into the seam of the bed

looks like you have a 4x4 Mojave addition pickup, the utility rack and moon-roof give give it away.. most of the Mojave additions were 2wd, which is why yours is pretty cool.

mojave 4x4's were in canada (not saying one wasn't brought to the US) , the roll bar pictured is not a Mojave roll bar...see this link

Ah Yes agree, definitely not stocker.. As for the the sunroof, yes 1st Gens did come with sunroofs, a rare extra.. I had one on my '82, leaked like hell, hated it...

i have to agree with slacker. my buddys brother had what looks like the same roll bar in his toyota. it said nissan on the side of it. looks identical to yours

I know it's not an '83 but I couldn't help but be reminded of this. LOVED this truck when I first saw the movie as a kid!
