I'm using Downey headers on my Buick swap, well over 25 years old and the chrome has blued but they have never leaked.

Ditto. I want to do the same but just change the muffler. I want something noticeable but not loud. Just a mellow sound at idle.

I'm running dual 2.25 aluminized pipes to 2 Dynomax mufflers (tucked up opposite the fuel tank) then out with 2.25 pipes behind the LR tire. The mufflers and tailpipes are over 10 years old, and the engine pipes at least 13 or 14, Moving away from the east coast is good for your truck too, I used to get about 5 years out of an exhaust system if i was lucky.

Wow I guess I should be grateful that this one has 26 years with a small exhaust leak
