Ok guys I need some help here I have a 1980 4x4 wen I am coming to a stop and pressing on the brakes at about 3 to 7 mph right b 4 I stop I get a big clunk in the front end and I can fill something jerking any one got any ideas I took it to Les Schwab and they looked it over and said they couldn't see anything obviously wrong

 

Does anything happen to the gear shifter when you hear the clunk? Does it clunk again, back, when you accelerate? I'm just thinking of broken engine mounts, but I think you'd notice a lot more than just clunking if that were it...

Other things off the top of my head: loose battery; something rolling around in the cab (I know that sounds dumb but you never know...); and uh...I guess that's all I can think of right now.

 

The only thing I would add is to try testing with the hubs locked/unlocked. May be something to do with the front diff/locking hubs
