The ugly brand. It's probably home made.

that thing looks like something that was a dealer item from late 80's-early 90's Nissans.
I doubt you can even find that style 'roll bar' manufactured any more.

A bed Mounted 'roll bar' like the one pictured will after little to no protection in a roll over.

From what I remember, the Nissan ones actually said "Nissan" in big white letters on the side crossbars; and the crossbars were bolted-on sheet metal, not tubular steel like the rest of the roll bar. Plus, I don't remember them being as tall as the one in the OP's picture. I saw them mostly on the pre-Harbody style of Nissan trucks (Hardbody style ran from '86 to '96 I think).

I always assumed they were a factory option, due to the unique design and the "Nissan" lettering on the side. If they were a dealership option, then they were definitely a standardized, official, factory-approved dealership option. I saw a ton of them; all identical, in the '80s on Nissan trucks.

Really?

Rolled 2-3 times @ 70MPH, Driver wasn't wearing a seatbelt, walked away without a scratch.

If you want to put your life in the hands of a 'roll bar' that is made of some tube slipped together, go for it...

Its better then nothing, the "Roll Bar" in my '86 is made outta pipe thats a little over 1/8th thick and I welded the seams together. I'd trust my life on it, I would say that if that "crappy roll bar" held the cab together that truck doin 70, its gonna be better then having nothing floppin over at a turtles pace.

The roll bar on my neighbor's '79 Toyota 4WD when I was a kid ('82 or so) came on the truck from the dealership when it was bought new (a dealer option I guess); it was heavy gauge steel and fully welded (no seams). I agree that they are better than nothing. A solidly made one certainly won't crush as easily as a sheet metal cab will.
