Yeah, the beds on this gen don't seem to hold up to rust well. That's why I've kept mine nice and haven't run lines that would put me over on my side yet, figured I better keep the bed nice til I find it a new home with someone who'll appreciate it.

 

Well if we ever made a trade she would be on a nice weekend cruiser. no rocks, a tiny touch of field mud, and a washing after every trip lol. This truck is basically a cruise to town truck to see how many people offer to buy it, lol

last question about the weber conversion, Should I run a regulator and what should I regulate it down too, Also thanks wes

 

Weber recommends regulated down to 3.5-4psi. I have my Holley regulator (only one I trust) set at 3.5psi for everyday driving. I drop that down to 1.5 psi when I am wheeling.

I want to say the fuel pumps on ours are like 6-7 psi if I am not mistaken.

With the regulator in there and the return line blocked off as per weber instructions, it makes the stock fuel pump a little louder. Probably puts a little extra stress on it as well.

 

could you give me a part number to that regulator, and an estimated price?? Thanks yall have helped a ton

 

12-804 should be the Holley number, Summit sells it for a little under $30.
MrGasket makes one that should be stocked at any Autozone, O'Reilly, etc, part number 9710. It's not much less expensive, but it's alot cheaper, if you know what I mean. I have the MrGasket one and it hasn't failed on me yet, but if I were you I'd get the Holley.

 

just placed an order with summit for the 12-804, a 0-15 PSI inline gauge, and fittings, also just got back from autoslong with a brand new fuel pump. She didn't need one but i figured it could never hurt to replace the 30 year old one, and keep it as a spare. She is getting expensive but I hope she runs like a top and is payoff enough for all the money and work. I enjoy the shadetree mechanics part of it though.

Does the weber carb kit come with a return line blockoff or do I need to buy one??? and if so what do I get. also does it tell me which vacuum advance to use on the distributor??

 

I just stuck a bolt in the return hose and hose clamped it. Taped off the hard line.

Return line: Fuel Pump -----> Soft Hose --------> Hard line

 

Ok I got you, one last question, I know you capped it coming from the fuel pump, what about from the tank, Did you cap that end as well or leave it as a vent? I still have the charcoal canister for the fuel tank vent on mine but I took the vacuum line off and just let it hang.

 

I taped the hard line of the return off with electrical tape. An appropriate size vacuum cap will do as well. But I have an abundance of electrical tape.

My charcan is still there as well. To tell you the truth I don't know what I did with that off hand.

 

Just want to send out a HUGE THANKS for all the help and tips guys, She is running better than a brand new sewing machine with noticeable gains in power. The spiral adapter was the way to go for sure. All I have to do now is a knuckle rebuild and brake job on the front and she will be up to par as far as my list goes, She is very streetable now though. Thanks again for all the help, Anyone need a factory carb or any factory smog stuff lol.
