Ben, when you've changed all this stuff, the jets, screw adjustments, etc., has it made any difference at all? If not, I'll bet your problem is not with the carb, but something else. Maybe fuel supply, maybe vacuum leak. Also, the idle jets are the ones that will affect idling the most...why haven't you changed them if you have idling issues you suspect are the carb?

Bill, thanks for the compliment, but really all I've done is read up on what people with little sports cars have done to these things for better power and applied it to our trucks.

Hey jonny, I bet you might of seen my truck around Lone-Pine an Mammoth, I gotta a RED 85 X-tra-cab....Black Shell...6,inch Lift 33,s.. Had it for 20 years Never gonna sell-it.. Iv,e been Crusing it up the 395 for last 15 years, and fishing-camping All-Over...Mostly Tioga-Pass... Probably seen your trucks a few times. Some guy at June-Lake Fire-Dept has a Nice 84 truck..think he lives in Mammoth.
About the Carb, gosh i swear there is that (certain-spot) that speed-screw position is at... just a fraction of a turn..(past-3/4 of turn) that the Mixture Screw (responds-To) I R-an-R,ed my throttle shaft other day just to re-lube it an stuff, now it runs best about 1/2 turn-in on speed-screw....and my Mix screw is always seems to do Best at 2, turns....

Anyway... Maybe see U crusin the SIERRA,s an TAHOE !!!
