Question w56 in 1980

I have a 1980 with an L43 In it I would like to put a w56 I have in it. My question is what is needed? I heard that you need to turn the crossmember around and redrill the mounting holes then use a longer front driveline. Any one know if this is correct?

you will need:

'81-up clutch set(might as well just order one from whatever year the tranny is)
W56 clutch fork and boot
bolts from the W56(i'm pretty sure the 2 side bolts are a different length than the ones in an L43.

also, you will need to relocate the crossmember back about 4". the easiest way would be to buy one of the nice sturdy ones that budbuilt sells, as it can be attached with U-bolts around the frame. the front driveline will need to be lengthened, and the rear one will have to be shortened up. you'll also need to cut new shifter holes for the tranny/t-case in the floor.
