i got my 1980 4x4 yota (20r) stuck yesterday..(sunday the 16th)...and now when i put it in 4-HI there is a BAD vibration...mostly in the 4wd shifter and the steering wheel...and it only does it when give it some gas...it doenst do it any other time...except when im speeding up....kinda weird..thought i would ask you guys before i jumped to conclusions...thanks a million!!

 

ujoint/cv/bearing in the front half? Can you narrow it down any?

 

my knowledge is limited...lol..all i know is that it started after i got stuck yesterday..i figured it out today...i was just foolin around...drove up my driveway in 4-hi..and it started vibrating like a B@#$#...so yea..thats about all i know...and something (i don't know what)...squeaks when i have it in 4wd and driving..idk what it is..and now its doing it in 2wd...so idk...its an old truck..and the P/O didn't treat it right....

 

if the shaking is in the shifter, the problem is in the driveline more than likely

check your mounts (motor and trans) and see if they are still good

 

i know my T-case mount is bad...but i checked the rest of the mounts and they are all good...and it only pulls the vibration when i put it in 4-hi...havent tried it in 4-lo...i dont want to mess anything up..lol
