Truck dies once hot
Hey all,
Truck runs fine till it gets warm about 15-20min and then the truck will die unless the gas pedal is constantly being pushed. I tried to loosen the fuel cap, it ran for 30 secs (while hot) then shutdown, I loosened the cap again and made a huge air release..Vapor lock? I did the ignition conversion using Chevy stuff...I have a hunch that the coil could be getting too hot..Anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks guys.

Check the chevy ignition module that your using, did you put the heat disapating grease on the back of it before you bolted it down ?, if not the module will over heat.

if the coil is starting to break down it will run until it gets hot. let it cool and it works again. i had a chevy truck that would go 10 ft at a time and it was a shorted coil. the module will do the same as myota said if it going bad. it doesn't do any good to have the module tested if it works sometimes ,the test just tells you if it is dead.

I did put the grease on the back, it did it last night and I put my hand over the coil and module and they were both very hot. I will try replacing the coil and see if that helps. Thanks for the help.
