tranny or clutch?

i bought this truck not running but was told it did run before. i got it started and went to drive it and i put it in gear and let out the clutch but it goes no where. to me, it really feels like its going into gear but i cant be 100% sure since ive never driven the truck yet. the guy that had it before me only messed with the fuel/delivery and he said he hadnt touchd the tranny but its been sitting for a few years.

you can buy a clutch kit for less than $100, probably release bearing is seized.. ususally trannys dont just go out especially if you can throw it into all the gears, have someone check if your clutch fork is moving when you push on on the pedal..

Nice! I love stuff like that. I've done those kind of things a lot.

Not sure on your grinding problem..

don't feel bad, that's just the stock anti-theft device. whenever i park mine overnight around town i'll throw the t-case into neutral. the average stupid crook will assume its broken when it doesn't go anywhere.
