Trailer Hitch

I am looking to mount a trailer hitch onto my 1982 pickup. I want the "under-frame" type with the square insert in the back. I would prefer a class III setup. Does anybody know of a hitch that will fir a first-gen 2wd? I know I am going to have problems with the exhaust, plate, and spare tire, but does anybody know of a known solution for a first-gen?

Thanks in advance.

Bump, I'm gonna have to use my grandpa's 8mpg van to tow a 10' boat! Any ideas?

Call uhaul, they should have something that works..

Otherwise thats about it unless you can bolt a hitch ball into the bumper.

try Hitchmart or Hidden hitch (same company) they have hitches for everything and have the best prices. Real easy instalation on most of there stuff. I can't remember where mine came from, I think I made it.

thanks I will try those. Can't put a ball on the bumper because there is no bumper.

just to let you guys know I found a hitch. U-haul #UHI24967CH. Class III and retails for $119.95. I didn't get it yet because I need to reroute my exhaust so it will fit.
