Steering help

hey i want to convert my 82 4x4 to powersteering and have everything except the shaft that goes from the steering wheel to the gearbox (steering column?). haha sorry i'm not that intelligent with parts names. so is the shaft from a manual gearbox the same as a powersteering one so i can just use the same one from my truck?

You can use the old one, just loosen the bolt and work it off of there. WD-40 is your friend... they seize on there sometimes

They are the same if you're getting a power steering unit out of a 79-83 pickup. Otherwise I think the steering shaft is a bit longer on the later models, so you'd have to do some minimal mods.
